Final Curtain is an original Murder Mystery Comedy open to ages 19 and under.
Auditions will be held at 907 Esquimalt Rd on August 15th from 1-4, and August 17th from 6:00-8:00.
Video auditions are happily accepted. Just record yourself/your child performing the monologue of their choice and send it to theatrealdentevictoria@gmail.com. In your email include the auditioners name, age, and if you have any conflicts with the proposed rehearsal schedule.
Performances will be at the Theatre al Dente rehearsal hall at 907 Esquimalt Rd October 23rd, 24th, and 25th.
Rehearsals will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-9
Auditioners should prepare one of the following monologues, and be prepared to read another if requested.
Plot Synopsis
When universally despised director Zach Snyder is found dead after the opening night of his new musical everyone is a suspect. Luckily renowned private eye Inspector Hound and rookie detective Sarah Brown are in the audience and on the case. With a cast of colorful characters, a mystery that will keep you guessing, and more puns than you can resonably handle, Final Curtain will give you exactly what you want from a night at the theatre. Mayhem!
Cast of Character
Inspector Hound: The hard hearted, hard headed detective
Sarah Brown: His bright eyed, bushy tailed rookie
Norma Desmond: An aging, former Diva reduced to performing in ‘two-bit’ productions.
Eve Harrington: The understudy to Norma. Seemingly young and innocent
Freddie Hill: The himbo leading man who is extremely clumsy and doesn't realize how dumb he is. Always causing accidents
Joanne: The Stage Manager. Put upon, long suffering and over this whole thing. Often comments on how much she'd like to burn it all down.
Zach: The director. Universally disliked. Murder victim. Has a huge life insurance policy
Max Biallistock: The producer. Desperately trying to keep from the cast the fact that the company is nearly bankrupt. Committing Insurance fraud.
Lily Saint Regis: Zach's girlfriend who was in the audience. Is used to living a very lavish lifestyle.
Mary Sunshine: A particularly brutal theatre critic in the audience. Seems to have a personal vendetta against Zach.
The Ensemble
Crystal, Ronette, and Chiffon: Triplets who look nothing alike but think they are identical. Always pulling shenanigans
Dolly and Levi: Method actors who refuse to stop being cats
